Startup Wrocław serves as the coordinator for the urban startup ecosystem in Wrocław. As the only university in Lower Silesia with the status of a Research University, the University of Wrocław is able to generate benefits for accelerated startups. With an academic community of nearly 30,000 people, 10 faculties, 150 fields of study, and over 500 professors, it provides recognizable best practices, tools, and standards for supporting the development of innovative businesses. SWPS University is the first non-public university in Poland to be among the country’s most active research units, distinguished by the highest rating of A+ for its research in psychology and political and administrative sciences. It also has a special purpose company, SWPS Innowacje, which provides various research and advisory services for businesses and the socio-economic environment.
The Lower Silesian Regional Development Agency (DARR S.A.) is one of the oldest business support institutions in Lower Silesia, established in 1991. It is a non-profit organization whose statutory goal is to support the development of knowledge-based private entrepreneurship, among other things. The institution has completed over 140 projects, and the total value of support provided to entrepreneurs exceeds PLN 460 million. DARR S.A. has extensive experience in supporting innovative startups through its acceleration programs (Climate-KIC, ClimateLaunchpad, Greenhouse), grant programs (Innovation Voucher 2022-2023), mentoring programs (Futurepreneurs), and in capital investments and the creation of new spin-off companies (Innovation Accelerator Lower Silesian Technology Park T-Park).
The Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (AIP WUST) is a gateway to the world of business, innovation, and technology. Its goal is to support innovators, startups, and entrepreneurs who want to implement innovative products and services. It works with both university affiliates and external specialists to provide comprehensive and practical knowledge. It offers not only a business address but also the possibility of renting office space. AIP WUST organizes pre-incubation programs such as “Grow Up Tech” consultations with experts and practitioners, and a range of events for the startup community. The incubator’s activities aim to connect creators and innovators with businesses and investors.
